Spring Fundraising Campaign
When you think of Bluemont, perhaps that first thing that comes to mind are our summer concerts. While we have presented more than 1,300 summer concerts since 1976, these concerts represent only a fraction of what Bluemont does. For every summer concert, we hold a corresponding free outreach concert at a local nursing home. Our Artist-In-Education program has also brought over 6,000 cultural and educational concerts and performances to 23 Virginia schools districts.
Now is a time of transition to a New Bluemont. We have new leadership- Lily Rose Dunning recently became our Executive Director. We are building an expanded proactive board, a renewed involvement in our participating communities, a reinvigoration of our Artist-in-Education program, and conducting a comprehensive review of all Bluemont programs in light of the changing needs of our rapidly growing communities
Please consider supporting the New Bluemont with a donation today!
New this year is our monthly giving plan. With a monthly pledge automatically charged to your credit or debit card, you support Bluemont's community programs in your schools, healthcare facilities and our summer concerts in a special way.
Bluemont Board Elects 3 New Members

Bluemont is excited to announce the addition of 3 new members to its Board of Directors. On Saturday, March 9th, the Bluemont Board of Directors elected Brett Burke, Mac McNichols, and Mark Snyder to serve on the board. Mr. Burke will represent Leesburg and Mr. McNichols and Mr. Synder will both represent Middleburg.
A Very Special Thanks to Sean Polster and the
Warrenton Christmas Parade
This year was the first in an important partnership between First Night Warrenton and the Warrenton Christmas Parade. Sean Polster, the chief organizer of the parade, generously reached out to First Night Warrenton, offering financial support of the event. We hope to continue this partnership in years to come.

21st Annual Loudoun Martin Luther King
March and Celebration
On January 21st, hundreds gathered for the 21st Annual March and Celebration honoring the birthday of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. The Loudoun MLK Celebration included a symbolic march from the Old Loudoun Courthouse to the Douglass Community Center, formerly the Douglass High School. The Loudoun MLK Celebration is one of the largest and oldest observances in the region. After the march, the celebration continued at the Douglass Community Center with several musical performances and speeches, including a keynote address from author Deborah L. Parker.
Many thanks to the volunteers, performers, speakers, and attendees who made this event a success. Special thanks to the event sponsors: Loudoun NAACP, Douglass Alumni Association, the
Bahá’í Community of Loudoun, and Tammy Carter, the MLK Committee chairwoman and Bluemont board member.
Thanks to All Those Who Made
First Night Warrenton a Success!
A hearty thanks to all who helped make our 2012 First Night Warrenton an incredible success here in Fauquier County this year: great entertainment, great teamwork, great sponsors and great weather. Conservative estimates put the evening's attendance a more than 1000, a wonderful turnout to a great community.
Thank you!

Fall 2012 Special Appeals Fundraising Campaign
For 36 years, Bluemont has helped make towns all over Virginia wonderful communities to live, work, and raise our kids. With your help, we have proudly presented more than 8,900 world-class cultural programs to more than 3 million residents and visitors in our Virginia communities.
This fall we are coming to our friends with an urgent appeal for help.
In recent years, Bluemont has weathered a 40% reduction in revenue. In anticipation of this, we have diligently cut operating expenses each year, eliminating $200,000 from our expense budget in the last two years alone. Our board has passed a goal to raise an additional $80,000 by December 31, 2012 to support our community outreach and our successful Artist-in-Education Program. Help us continue to enrich your community's life by clicking the picture above to make your contribution today.
