Barefoot Puppet Theatreâ€™s performances bring to life world folktales, classic tales with a twist and original pieces. Their incredible puppets, beautiful scenery and original music have delighted audiences along the East Coast.
African Trickster Tales (K-5) features two traditional tales from Africa's west coast: Tug of War and A Story, A Story. Audiences will enjoy the antics of Anansi the Spider and a host of characters portrayed by rod puppets.
Dreamtime (K-5) brings three Aboriginal folktales to life through the eyes of a young platypus. Children will experience the magic of the Australian continent as they meet some of the most amazing animals in the world.
Galapagos George (K-5) shares the story of â€œLonesome George,â€ a giant Galapagos Tortoise. Audiences will watch George grow up on his island full of sea lions, lizards, blue-footed birds and more. Students will learn about man's impact on the environment of this magical archipelago. This show was funded in part by a grant from the Puppeteers of America Endowment Fund.
The Little "Bread" Hen (K-5) is a hilarious retelling of the Classic, â€œThe Little Red Hen.â€ Join us and discover the truth behind why the animals wonâ€™t help the hen bake bread. Set in a small European Bakery, this show is seasoned with a liberal dash of Dr. Seuss, Brementown Musicians and The Fox and The Hen. You will think you smell bread cooking by the end of the show!
