Mark Jaster studied mime with Eitienne Decroux, the celebrated teacher of Marcel Marceau, and served as Mr. Marceau's teaching assistant. Jaster's diverse skills as actor, musician, dancer, and mime and his expertise in children's theatre, classical training, and his own fertile, off-beat imagination have made his solo shows a popular success with young and old alike. Offering workshops, performances, and creating entire plays in mime, Mark has been entertaining people of all ages in this country and abroad for over thirty years. In addition to the programs listed, Mark offers workshops and entertains as a strolling mime for special events.
A Fool Named "O" (K-adult) features a wordless jester who plays unusual instruments and non-instruments and uses other simple props to beguile, involve, and entertain in a medieval manner.
Piccolo's Trunk (K-adult) a wordless clownish character who engages the audience with classic comic mime. The program includes live music, prolific audience participation and the stair and escalator illusions.
The Maestro (K-adult) An eccentric mute conductor makes music mayhem with the audience as his orchestra in a classic combination of mime and music in the tradition of Chaplin, Keaton and the circus of yesteryear.
